Description

A great first project – all you need to know for this class is the knit stitch. We will learn how to make mitred squares which are knit crossways and guaranteed to be perfect squares. Then we will learn how to join them together to make a cushion or blanket.

You need to bring:
You should bring some DK weight yarn – anything that says on the label that it can be knit with 4mm needles. To give your finished item a patchwork effect you can use several different colours, but they must be the same weight of yarn. This is also a great project for yarn leftovers – each square uses around 15g of yarn and measures 13cm x 13cm. We will provide a set of short 4mm bamboo knitting needles, which are great for knitting squares, and for keeping in your bag for on-the-go knitting.

Who is the class suitable for?
You need to be able to do the knit stitch for this class, but beginners who have just learned the basics are welcome.
