Terms and Conditions
Classes at the Craft Room will resume on 18th May 2020, following the guidelines for distancing and hygiene recommended by the Swiss government. Please read through the safety policy below to see how we can ensure your safety and ours.
Safety Policy Regarding Covid-19
Sickness / cancellations
If you feel at all unwell please do not come to class – even if it’s a last minute thing. Please let me know by email to email@example.com or via Facebook messenger.
If I should become ill, the class will be cancelled by me – please make sure you have provided a valid email address during registration so that I can contact you in this case.
No charges will apply for cancellations caused by sickness, even if you cancel on the day.
You will be able to choose to reschedule, or to get a full refund.
Keeping 2m distance / mask wearing
The Craft Room is a small space where keeping 2m distance is difficult. To minimize risk, class size will be restricted to 1 attendee (plus the teacher). Since I will need to be closer than 2m to you in order to effectively teach I will wear a mask during class – it’s optional if you wish to do the same. No children’s parties are possible at this point in time.
Hand washing / greetings
The Craft Room has a sink in both of our rooms, teacher and attendees should wash hands on arrival and can also do the same on leaving or as wished during the class.
We will not shake hands (or hug!) on arrival or leaving the class – but please understand that you are very welcome in the class!
The Craft Room bathroom is shared between the 3 hobby rooms on our floor. Cleaning is managed by the building staff once per week. I will additionally clean door handles and surfaces you might touch in the bathroom before class. Towels for drying hands are provided by the Craft Room (clean towels for each class).
Cleaning in the Craft Room
All surfaces, including door handles will be cleaned after each class.
Some of you love to help me during class – but at the moment, I ask that students do not help to clean up after class or touch any items that are not strictly necessary during class! Thank you 🙂
Equipment and materials used in class
All equipment used in class will be cleaned after use as much as possible. We will keep items used in class separated from stock during the class. Some items such as sewing machines are difficult to clean after each use due to many parts – we will clean what we can and then rotate the usage – with 3 days between each use to minimise the risk of contamination. See individual classes for details on any restrictions.
For some of my classes I provide materials for your use. You can still browse materials for use during class – we will ask you to wash your hands before touching the fabrics and yarns.
General Terms and Conditions
Updated Registration process
Since classes are restricted to one participant at the moment, the booking process is a bit different than before, because now you can choose the date of your class!
The disadvantage is that this isn’t such an easy process as before – it’s explained on each class page, but to register you need to:
1. Add the class to the basket
2. Reserve a time slot for your class.
3. Go to the basket and checkout to pay.
After we receive your payment your place is confirmed.
If you have any issues with booking or paying then please drop me a message here.
Cancellations and refunds
See the terms above for sickness-related cancellations. In addition the following applies to other types of cancellations.
If you need to cancel a registration a refund will be given up to 1 week before the class date.
After that time we do not issue refunds. You can organise a replacement by transferring your place to someone else, but this is up to you to organise.
In some special circumstances we can offer you a credit for another class.
To cancel a class or for further information, contact me here.
Check the class description to see what materials are provided or if you need to bring something – if you need help with what to buy just drop us an email here.
What to wear?
Some of our classes are messy! Especially things involving glue, pens and dyes. We recommend that you wear something old that you don’t mind getting dirty. If you need any special protective materials e.g. gloves for dying or a face mask for drilling then we will normally provide these – but please read the class instructions for details. The Craft Room is not liable for accidental damage to clothing / bags or belongings.
Damage to the Craft Room or our equipment
The Craft Room is a working Atelier, and damages like scratches on the table or glue and paint spills are completely normal. However, the Craft Room does have equipment that is difficult or costly to replace, and we also rent our space and need to take care of it, so we do reserve the right to charge you for any significant damages. Obviously we do work hard to try and prevent accidental misuse of our tools during our classes by teaching you the proper way to handle them.
When you register for a class we need your name and email address so we can get in touch with you about the class if we need to. We will not use your information for anything other than this – we will not send you marketing messages or information about other classes nor will we share your data with anyone else. We also need to store this data for tax purposes.
