Description

We will learn everything you need to know about knitting socks: knitting in the round, heel flaps and heel turns, gussets, foot and toes! In this three part course we cover it all. We’ll knit our socks with double pointed needles from the top down.

We provide a multi-size sock pattern, a set of bamboo double pointed needles and a ball of sock yarn to knit a pair of calf length socks – you can choose from a variety of colours.

This is a 3 part course and you need to attend all three sessions to complete the sock techniques.
Class 1: we will learn how to use double pointed needles (dpns), make a long tail cast on and learn to knit in the round.
Class 2: we will learn how to turn the heel of the sock and knit the gusset
Class 3: we will finish the foot, shape the toes and finish with Kitchener stitch to graft the toes together.
There will be homework between the classes to knit the leg and the foot of the sock so please leave adequate time between them (recommended: a week between each class).
